Rekindle an old tradition or create a new one at Lake Lanier Islands Resort‘s 14th Annual Magical Nights of Lights celebration. Known as the world’s largest animated light extravaganza, the holiday celebration runs through Friday, December 30th, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Magical Nights of Lights features new and improved holiday entertainment and attractions along with its traditional driving tour through more than six miles of giant, illuminated characters that comprise of millions of twinkling lights. Children and adults alike will be dazzled by the festive splendor, including The Twelve Days of Christmas, Santa’s Elves at Work, the North Pole Express, the Animated Sliding Penguin, Jack & The Beanstalk, Jet-Ski For Two, a virtual tunnel through Icicle Bridge and a stroll down Candy Cane Lane.

Presented by Blackshear Place Baptist Church, the live nativity scene premiers December 1, 2006 complete with actors, live animals, manger and First Century-like stable.

After the driving tour and nativity scene, stop by the latest addition to the holiday merriment, the ice skating rink. The cost is $3.00 per person plus $6.00 to rent skates if needed. The 4,250 square foot rink opens each day at 4:00 p.m. beginning November 18 and closes December 30th. Groups can book the rink in the mornings by calling 678.318.2026.

Holiday Village is a must-see for everyone, complete with a bonfire for roasting marshmallows, delicious holiday fare, pony and amusement rides, holiday shopping and much more. Look for that perfect Christmas tree to take home with the family and decorate. And what holiday spectacle would be complete without a visit with that jolly old St. Nick? Kids of all ages can take a break from roasting marshmallows and riding ponies to have their photo taken and discuss their holiday wish lists with Santa himself at the Santa Shop. Nominal charges apply to the Santa photos, amusement rides, pony rides and marshmallow roasting.

The Magical Nights of Lights package includes accommodations for a family of five; one vehicle pass through Magical Nights of Lights’ displays; complimentary amusement rides for up to three children at the Holiday Village; and Breakfast with Santa** in the Resort’s Windows Restaurant. New Years Eve “Flashback!”

Reminisce the events of 2006 with Emerald Pointe Hotel’s annual New Year’s Eve Gala on Sunday, December 31. This year’s theme is “Flashback: Remembering the 70’s and 80’s.”

Flashback to the past and remember the “good ole times” while moving forward into 2007. Wear 70’s and 80’s apparel while dancing under the disco ball and strobe lights. The festivities will begin at 7:30pm and conclude with a balloon drop and champagne toast at midnight.

The gala package is $479* per couple including overnight accommodations for two, an hors d’ oeuvres reception, open bar, dinner buffet, live entertainment, and breakfast at Windows Restaurant.

Last Minute Thanksgiving Dinner Idea!

It’s not too late to leave all the work to us for Thanksgiving!

We’ll do all the cooking and cleaning with our traditional, yet distinct Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings. Then get into the holiday spirit at Magical Nights Of Lights®.

In the Thanksgiving tradition, a delicious buffet with all the holiday favorites will be featured, including golden roasted turkey with cornbread dressing and giblet gravy, fresh honey glazed ham, corn soufflé and Boursin cheese mashed potatoes. There will also be more eclectic menu items served, as well as a special children’s buffet compete with all the kids favorites!

The Thanksgiving Day Feast will be served in the Grand and Veranda Ballrooms at Lake Lanier Islands Resort’s Emerald Pointe Hotel with seating times at 1 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. The price for the buffet is $35.95* for adults, $31.95* for seniors, and $19.95* for children ages six to 12. Children six and under eat for free.
