Incredible Plans for an Incredible Georgia Resort Destination
In the midst of an Island-by-Island revitalization, Lake Lanier Islands Resort is on its way to become Georgia’s first comprehensive resort destination. Once complete, the Islands will become a legacy for all Georgians to enjoy.
With the upgraded road systems featuring widened roads with pull-off lanes, cart and bike paths with no at-grade crossings and easy to navigate roundabouts, guests will be able to migrate from Island to Island taking advantage of all the great experiences to be found.
Georgia Island
Currently housing Presentation Pointe and the Front Gate, Georgia Island will soon become Lake Lanier Islands Resort’s Island for the public to enjoy. Amenities to come include a family hotel and a completely new indoor/outdoor Beach & WaterPark. Leaving Georgia Island, guests will pass through the new site of the entrance gates and pass over a new gateway bridge connecting Georgia Island to Legacy Island.
Legacy Island
The new Legacy Lodge & Conference Center is the centerpiece of Legacy Island. Fashioned after the Great Lodges of America built at the turn of the 20th Century, Legacy Lodge is a luxurious and rustic retreat. BullFrogs Bar and Grille, located poolside has been expanded and redesigned with an enlarged indoor dining area, upgraded kitchen facility and a relaxed atmosphere complete with natural stone and timber. Adjacent to the hotel sit the new luxurious Legacy Villas. Also boasting the natural elements of Legacy Lodge, the Villas reflect the natural sanctuary of the lake while providing all of the comforts of a modern resort. This is just a glimpse of what is to come to all accommodations at Lake Lanier Islands Resort.
Legacy Island is also home to Legacy Pointe, a peaceful setting for weddings and special events, as well as the 30 New England–inspired LakeHouses at Legacy.
Also on Legacy Island is Legacy on Lanier Golf Club, a new 18-hole championship golf course. The course was designed and renovated by local Atlanta golf course design firm, Billy Fuller Golf Design and Medalist Golf of Atlanta. The redesign of the course created even more stunning views of Lake Lanier and returns to the Golden Era of golf. Some of the new features include: completely renovated greens, larger tee boxes, new “Billy Bunker” design, additional yardage to lengthen the course, and new concrete cart paths. The Golden Era design of the course provides new challenges for experienced golfers, as well as providing an exceptional experience for the casual golfer.
Future plans for Legacy Island also include new golf side villas, hillside cottages and a scenic chapel.
Pine Island
From golfers at PineIsle Golf Club to boaters at Harbor Landing, Pine Island is the place for the adventurers who visit the Resort. Plans for this Island also include a beach club with restaurants, swimming pools and nearby accommodations at hillside cottages, golf side villas, and luxury guest villas.
The most significant difference on Pine Island currently is the absence of the well-known PineIsle Hotel. After more than 30 years since its doors opened, the long standing hotel was torn down to make way for a new luxury four-star hotel with an opening date slated in the next two to three years.
Blue Ridge Island
Named for its superior view of the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountain range, this Island is planned for many harmonious venues.
There will be plenty of serene options of accommodations from which to choose. A quaint and cozy Bed and Breakfast Inn is in the plans and will be nestled away at the water’s edge. There are also plans for a luxurious Boutique Hotel with spa and wellness center for those looking for a tranquil getaway. Future plans also include beautiful hillside cottages, guest villas and restful retreat cabins.

Design Gallery Showing Our Vision
Imagine being greeted to Lake Lanier Islands Resort by driving through the natural sanctuary over a gateway bridge that clearly immerses one with the feeling of escaping to the Islands. This is only the beginning vision of legendary businessman Virgil Williams and his family who acquired the Resort in August 2005.
